Thanksgiving!

This year Noel and I will be joining Mary and Michael, and Michael and Mary's families. I am *so* excited! I haven't gotten to see any of my fam in over three months now and I miss them all tons. Plus, I am huge people person, nothing makes me happier than a party with a bunch of people, and what better party than a family one?! We leave tomorrow around 5:30 in the morning to embark on an 11 hour drive. Wee-hoo. Not that I can complain, Noel drove 21 hours straight the first day of our move down here. O.O Anyways, I hope to return with lots of pictures and funny stories. Have yourselves an awesome Thanksgiving! Enjoy your families. :-)

Random Update

Well, we're hanging in there, still need jobs though! (*kicks stupid people who refuse to hire her*) But that doesn't stop us from having good times together. We have recently discovered that we can go out for coffee and a doughnut once a week for less that $5 at the best doughnut place *ever* (That's about $2.50 for each of us. Woo hoo!) Krispy Kreme is my hero.

The Fair!

Well, back in WA it's been a family tradition to go to the Puyallup fair every year. We head out early in the morning, and stay till it closes. We get dizzy passes and go on all the rides until we can't stand up without falling over. So now that Noel and I are in AZ we thought we'd go check out the state fair. *cough*Leeeeet's just say it's not the Puyallup. :-P
However, the petting zoo was awesome! They had three baby kangaroos, and *so* many goats, and little tiny pigs. *head explodes with cuteness*

Long Time Coming

Yes, it's been a crazy month since that last post. *shakes head* Whew.
Lets see, shortly after the trip Noel and I went to the "Newly Marrieds" group at the church we've been going to down here, and we had a really awesome time. It was so nice to be able to sit and talk to people roughly our own age! (And Christians to boot!) At the meeting I met the pastor's wife and discovered that she runs a nanny placement service down here so we exchanged emails and phone numbers and I waited to hear from her (she said she'd email me an app to fill out).
Long story short, she placed me at home with triplet 18 month old boys, in what was supposed to be a part time (30 hrs/week) postion. Turns out the mother had other plans and I was swept into a hectic schedule of 40-42 hrs every week, with maybe a day or two off every now and again. What a learning experience! Not only did I learn somethings about the interview/disclosure process but I also learned a lot about 18 month old kids. :-D Well, that was at the beginning of October. Now, nearly a month later I know that the mother has *serious* emotional/mental issues, and that I was not cut out for working in a situation like that. (God so graciously showed me the door out on this one.) So now I am back to looking for work! Good times, good times.
However, while I was working it made me realize how much I really enjoy being the keeper of my own home. Since my hours were mostly in the afternoon and evening, I was rarely home to cook dinner, or make sure that everything was taken care of for the next day and I really *really* missed being at the stove working on some new (or tried and true!) recipe for dinner, and getting to be the one who made sure the dishes and laundry were done. In the days since I my job ceased to be, I have been a much more productive and (hehe, hopefully) joyful housewife than I was before. Getting up and making real food in the mornings when Noel has school, baking things so the house smells good when Noel gets home, and making sure everything is tidy and clean. *nods* It is so good to be home.

Anyhews, hopefully I'll have time for more pictures soon! Sadly, there are no leaves here to turn with the seasons. *tsks* But! In just a little while I'll be in Idaho for my sisters wedding and there will be *tons* of pictures from that. :-D So don't write me off just yet.

Continuation

*clears throat*
Aaaaalright! I'm back at the library where the connection is strong enough
to actually upload more pictures! *joyousness*
Ahem.
So, here are the rest of the pictures from last weekend. :-)
Check out these amazing blue cowgirl boots! I love them!

Almost-the-weekend trip!

On Friday Noel and I packed up some bottles of water and the camera and headed out to go see the Tonto Natural Bridge which is about 1 1/2 hrs away from us. We were totally excited about getting to clamber around on the trails and work our way down to the bottom of the canyon! However, in all our brilliant planning we never checked the State Parks website to make sure that the park would be open so when we got there... we found this:

*sigh*

So! We turned the car around and went to find something *else* to explore!
We ended up driving down the 260 for a little ways before giving up on being able to reach the Rim. But we did drive by an *amazing* ranch house that had a gorgeous patio. *drools* Ahem, anyway, then we stopped at a rest area near a campground just to get out, stretch our legs, and see what we could see.

This bug was so weird! I think it looks like a mosquito but Noel says it's a wasp.

It made me think of a snake...

To Be Continued.

Victory, sweet victory.

So, last night Noel and I were playing scrabble and I had the *most* amazing word ever! Okay, so it's not a crazy fancy word, or even anything out of the ordinary. But! It's eight letters long. Yes my dear readers I got 80 points from "Drifting"! (15 for the word, double word tile makes 30 and all seven tiles from my board is an extra 50 points!) WOO-HOO! *cough*

Anyways, now to share a little happiness with y'all.
